I don’t wanna say “I told you so”, but…

September 2, 2009 Leave a comment

… I have 14 random predictions for the upcoming season, and when they come true, I will definitely say “I told you so” — even though I do not want to. I will request, however, that you kindly refrain from pointing out all of the times I am wrong. Because, well, that would just be rude.

Also, just in case you missed them, here are my previous 17 Crazy Predictions.

Onto the nonsense…

1. RB Steven Jackson will have the most yards from scrimmage in 2009.

2. WR Randy Moss will have at least 15 TDs.

3. QB Brent Farve will have at least 15 INTs.

4. WR Chaz Schilens will outscore WR Devin Hester.

5. WR Braylon Edwards will have at least 1,000 yards and 7 TDs.

6. WR Terrell Owens will wear out his welcome in BUF.

7. RB Leon Washington will score more fantasy points than RB Thomas Jones.

8. QB Mike Vick will have a better passer rating than the Mouthbreather (QB Eli Manning).

9. RB Felix Jones will average more than 5.0 YPC.

10. RB Ray Rice will score more fantasy points than

11. TE Jermichael Finley will score at least 6 TDs for GB.

12. TE Visanthe Shiacnoe will be a top-10 TE.

13. WR Larry Fitzgerald will not score more TDs than WR Anquan Boldin.

14. WR Chris Henry will score more fantasy points than WR Roy Williams.

Preseason Wrapup

September 1, 2009 Leave a comment

Yeah, I know. There is still one week of the preseason left. But the starters rarely play any significant amount of time in the 4th preseason game. So now seems like as good a time as any to look back at the preseason and see what we learned.

So, with that in mind: I know it’s only preseason, but…

1. The Packers offense looks very good. I have said a few times already that I expect QB Aaron Rodgers to end the season as the top scoring player in fantasy (and to back this up, I picked him in two of my three leagues so far this year). Rodgers has looked very sharp in the preseason, completing 27 of 38 passes for 458 yards, with 6 TDs and no interceptions — and he did this in approximately 4 quarters of play. Which is, like, pretty good. Beyond Rodgers, though, there is RB Ryan Grant, who should get 300 carries and rebound from his poor 2008, WR Greg Jennings, who is a top-10 (and maybe even top-5) WR, WR Donald Driver, who is an undervalued WR3, and sleepers such as WR James Jones and TE Jermichael Finley, who could put up good numbers in an offense that should be in the top 5 in the league.

2. We have no idea what TO will do in Buffalo. TO looked like he could still play early during BUF’s 1st preseason game. But that is all we saw of him. He has missed the rest of the preseason with a mysterious toe injury. I have my own issues with TO — mostly related to the QB and OL in BUF — but there is no denying the guy’s talent. If you like to gamble, you can probably get a pretty good deal on him.

3. Chris Henry could be very good. I have had this kid on many of my fantasy teams in the past, only to end up disappointed by his inconsistency and apparent stupidity. But now it seems like he has things figured out. He caught a TD in each of the preseason games, and is a prime candidate to replace the production that went with WR TJ Houshmandzadeh to SEA. He is a great sleeper pick.

4. Brett Favre still has it. At least for a few more weeks. No one really doubted that Favre could still play. I think the real question is whether he can still play for 16 (or 19 or 20) weeks. I suspect he will look pretty sharp during the early portion of the season, but judgment day(s) will come later in the year when he is getting tired and beat up. Will he still have the desire? Will his body hold up? Who knows. But he does give the other offensive players in MIN a boost — at least in the short-term.

5. We have no idea what any of the rookie RBs will do. There is some great talent at RB in this year’s rookie class. Unfortunatley, we still do not know whether any of them will be productive. We finally got to see RB Beanie Wells last week against GB, and he looked good, but questions linger about his injury issues. Everyone was excited when RB Knowshon Moreno ended his holdout, but he only lasted half a game and then was injured. And we still have no idea how DEN plans to use him. RB Donald Brown was a popular sleeper pick, but IND does not seem like it has any plans to give up on RB Joseph Addai any time soon. RB LeSean McCoy finds himself in a similar position — if (when?) RB Brian Westbrook goes down, McCoy should blow up. But what if that does not happen? Enough people are predicting Westbrook’s demise that I am convinced it is not going to happen. RB Shonn Greene is also waiting behind an aging veteran. But we have no idea when or if he will see the field. In fact, out of all the rookie RBs, RB James Davis might have the best chance of seeing the field sooner rather than later. He is stuck behind an ineffective and aging RB Jamal Lewis, and there have been rumors that Lewis might not make the final roster. (But you know how rumors go…) Overall, I think Wells has the best chance to have a big fantasy season, but Brown and McCoy could blow up if injuries open the door. And keep an eye on Davis — he is a sleeper if I ever saw one.

6. The Seahawks could surprise some people. SEA was terrible last year. But that was mostly due to a rash of injuries. Although they still have some issues along the OL, and RB Julius Jones does not scare [m]any teams, their offense could be pretty good. QB Matt Hasselbeck is a sleeper at QB, WR TJ Houshmandzadeh is a very good value at WR, TE John Carlson is a great value at TE, and WR Deon Butler is a deep sleeper. Shoot, even Jones is the main ballcarrier, so he should put up solid yardage totals and can likely be picked very late in your draft.

7. Eli Manning is still a mouthbreather. Nothing has changed. Except now he has lost his favorite target at WR. Which means he will probably do a lot more mouthbreating and blaming his teammates when things do not go right.

8. The Raiders are one messed up franchise. There are guys in OAK with potential — RB Darren McFadden, RB Michael Bush, WR Chaz Schilens, TE Zach Miller — but can we really trust anyone in OAK to produce on a weekly basis? The team is so dysfunctional that it seems foolish to draft any of them. Which really makes me wonder why I took both Bush and Schilens in one of my recent drafts…

9. Brady and Moss could return to their 2007 form. The circus that is the Brady-to-Moss connection could be back. They make it look too easy. Way too easy. Which is why I made sure to grab Moss in a couple of my leagues. I expect him and Brady to put up huge numbers. And since Moss is going as the 3rd or 4th WR, he is a great value, because he could very well end up as the number 1 WR at the end of the year — especially since the other top WRs — WR Larry Fitzgerald, WR Andre Johnson, and WR Calvin Johnson — all have QB health/quality issues.

10. Fantasy football is fun. I am so glad the season is (almost) here. I have been thinking about this sh!t way too long. So I am happy that the season is right around the corner…

Do Not Draft List

August 28, 2009 Leave a comment

So, I (finally) have my first draft this weekend. It is a live auction draft with a group of friends, so it should be fun. As I finalize my rankings and prepare for the draft, I like to make a “Do Not Draft List” with all the guys I am going to avoid at all costs. Most of these guys I want to avoid because I think they are too risky — i.e. they will either bust or get injured. Some of them, I simply do not like.

DO NOT DRAFT

QB Kurt Warner (ARI): Age, injury history, and, well, that’s pretty much it.

QB Eli Manning (NYG): Mouthbreather.

QB Brett Favre (MIN): Traitor.

QB Mike Vick (PHI): He will miss the first part of the season. And he is a backup QB. I still do not get whey people are drafting him.

QB Pat White (MIA): Again: Backup QB. 3rd string, even. Yes, I realize he will run the Wildcat. So, put him in at QB one week. And enjoy losing your game. You would be better off with QB Brady Quinn as your starting QB.

RB Brian Westbrook (PHI): Everyone is convinced that this is the year he falls apart. Which means he will probably blow up. So, I guess you can thank me.

RB Thomas Jones (NJY): Career year last year. Career-ending year this year?

RB Jamal Lewis (CLE): He’s had a nice run. But I think he is phased out this year in favor of RB James Davis.

RB Joseph Addai (IND): He could do well. Or he could get replaced by RB Donald Brown. I am not taking the risk.

RB Willie Parker (PIT): Oh, FWP, we’ve had some good times. But, seriously, now it’s time for you to leave.

RB Derrick Ward (TB): He is sharing the job with RB Earnest Graham and RB Cadillac Williams. And Ward will find that life is a lot tougher when not running behind the NYG OL.

RB Jonathan Stewart (CAR): He has to prove he can stay healthy before I add him to my roster.

WR Larry Fitzgerald (ARI): Call me silly or call me stupid, but I am a believer in the Madden Curse.

WR Terrell Owens (BUF): Toe injuries scare me. And so does the OL in BUF.

WR Michael Crabtree (SF): His hubris is unreal.

WR Brandon Marshall (DEN): Extremely talented. Extremely stupid.

WR Antonio Bryant (TB): No way he has back-to-back monster years. Especially not with those QBs.

WR Devin Hester (CHI): He is not a WR. I repeat: He is not a WR.

More Sleepers

August 6, 2009 Leave a comment

Here is another discussion regarding potential sleepers. Some of these names appeared on my previous list of 2009 sleepers, but some of them are new. Either way, here are some guys to keep your eyes on during the preseason and during the later rounds of your fantasy draft.

QB Kyle Orton (DEN): Most of the focus has been on QB Jay Cutler as a result of the offseason swap of the two QBs, but I think Orton could benefit the most. Orton was actually playing fairly well last year before an ankle injury derailed his season. And now he is in Denver, with a capable stable of RBs, WR Brandon Marshall and WR Eddie Royal as his main targets on the outside, and a coach who loves to throw the ball. The system is set up very well for Orton, who does not have great arm strength, but is pretty accurate. He is going pretty late in most drafts, but should end up out-performing his draft position by quite a bit.

RB James Davis: He should be the top backup to RB Jamal Lewis in Cleveland. And Lewis has seemingly been on his last legs for a couple years. I would not be surprised to see Lewis give way to Davis as the season progresses. It is also worth noting that Davis broke all of Lewis’ high school rushing records.

RB Andre Brown (NYG): Most people assume that RB Ahmad Bradshaw will assume the role vacated by RB Derrick Ward and pile up the yards in 2009. However, I do not think Bradshaw is that type of back. In fact, I think Brown has a chance to step in a claim quite a few carries in the NYG’s RB rotation. Also remember that RB Brandon Jacobs has a tendency to suffer nagging injuries.

RB Jamaal Charles (KC): There are rumors abound that RB Larry Johnson will have to fight for his starting spot. Now, this may just be the new coaches forcing the formerly-disgruntled RB to work harder. But it also could be due to the fact that Johnson is apparently not a great fit for new HC Todd Haley’s pass-central offense. Charles is a bit undersized, but has great speed and could excel in a more open offense. Keep an eye on Johnson, though. He reportedly showed up at camp weighing 223 pounds, after checking in at over 230 pounds last year. He is said to be in the best shape of his career. Maybe Johnson is the real sleeper here?

RB Ray Rice (BAL): I love Ray Rice in 2009. He is the starting RB on a team that loves to run — they ran more than any other team in the NFL in 2008. Obviously, RB Willis McGahee and RB Le’Ron McClain will steal some carries, but I think Rice will be the main ball carrier, getting around 20 carries per game. He loses some value, because McClain will likely steal the goal line carries, but Rice has solid hands, so he should put up good yardage totals. Either way, he is usually going pretty late in most drafts, so he should easily out-perform his draft position.

WR Robert Meachem (NO): Meachem was very talented coming out of Tennessee, but simply was not able to stay healthy and/or pick up the system thus far. However, coming into the 2009 season, QB Drew Brees has been raving about this kid. Now, normally, this might be shrugged off as a QB talking up a fellow teammate. But when you consider that in 2007, Brees kept talking up a guy by the name of WR Marques Colston, and in 2008, Brees was high on previously unheard of WR Lance Moore, you start to think that maybe you should pay attention. How well Meachem does is anyone’s guess. But with praise like that from Mr. Brees, you best keep him on your radar.

WR Limas Sweed (PIT): He was expected to be a very high draft pick while at the University of Texas, but a wrist injury and some other issues pushed him down on draft day. And then he was nearly invisible as a rookie in Pittsburgh. But rumors out of camp are that Sweed is looking very good and should be in line for the 3rd WR spot behind WR Hines Ward and WR Santonio Holmes. Although there are not a ton of passing yards to go around in Pittsburgh, due to his size, Sweed could develop into a nice redzone target, if nothing else.

WR Dominic Hixon (NYG): A lot of the focus in the preseason has been on rookies WR Hakeem Nicks and WR Ramses Barden. However, I doubt either one of these guys will have an impact in 2009. Instead, the NYGs will make due with guys like Hixon, WR Steve Smith, and WR Mario Manningham. Smith is more of a possession WR, and Manningham is an unknown quantity after being injured for most of 2008. Hixon, however, showed us last year that he has some talent, and should step into the role of the #1 WR this year. The Giants run the ball a ton, so do not expect Fitzgerald-like numbers. But he is worth taking late in your draft, probably even after someone else takes Nicks.

WR Earl Bennett (CHI): Count me among the people who do not believe WR Devin Hester is a legitimate #1 WR in the NFL. Couple that with the lack of other WR options in Chicago, and all of a sudden second-year WR Earl Bennett becomes intriguing, especially considering that he and QB Jay Cutler used to be college teammates. Will we see a reprise of the Jay and Earl Show in Chicago?

WR Josh Morgan (SF): I still like Morgan. I liked him last year. And despite the presence of WR Michael Crabtree (assuming he actually plays in 2009), I still like him this year. Obviously, the QB situation in SF is less than desirable. But that does not mean Morgan will not put up decent numbers. Remember, he had a TD catch in every game he started in 08. Which shows that the guy can get open. He is worth taking late for depth and could turn into a solid WR3.

TE Kevin Boss (NYG): Boss had a solid rookie campaign and is reported to have developed a very good chemistry with QB Eli Manning so far in camp. Which is good, because I think Eli will be looking to his TE a lot in 2009. Although I do think Hixon is a sleeper at WR, I do not expect the Giants’ WRs as a group to be all that dangerous. Which means that Eli will have to look to his TE a lot.

Packers Defense: Usually I would not bother to even include a defense on a list like this. But I think the Packers are going to be much better on defense this year than in 2008. They have a very good secondary, an improved defensive line, and they are switching to the 3-4, which should help them get more pressure on the QB. Are they going to be as good as the Ravens or Steelers? No. But if you wait until the very end of your draft to get a defense (like I do), I think they are a great value.

Week 14: QB Rankings

December 4, 2008 Leave a comment

So, I am going to try something new. I have never done rankings before, because, well, they take time. And I get paid by the hour. But it’s not to do this. Either way, I thought I would give it a shot, since everyone else seems to do it. And in reality, the start/sit recommendations do not give you much. Because what you really need to know is who to pick between two or three guys, and if they all appear on the start (or sit) list, you have learned nothing. So, here is my first stab at QB rankings (this list does not include Rivers or Russell, who played on Thursday night):

  1. Kurt Warner (ARI) @ STL
  2. Aaron Rodgers (GB) vs. HOU
  3. Drew Brees (NO) vs. ATL
  4. Jay Cutler (DEN) vs. KC
  5. Peyton Manning (IND) vs. CIN

Week 14: Start

December 4, 2008 Leave a comment

Ah, the playoffs. Some of you are likely starting Round 1 this week, and others are trying to win one last game (and hoping an assortment of other teams lose one last game) so you can sneak in. As you set your lineups, here are some players who have favorable matchups.

QB Kyle Orton (CHI) vs. JAX: Starting CB Mathis is out for the Jags. And they were not that great to begin with.

QB Gus Frerotte (MIN) @ DET: I bet I could throw for 2 TDs againt Detroit.

QB Peyton Manning (IND) vs. CIN: Last week was an anomaly. He will rebound.

QB Eli Manning (NYG) vs. PHI: I hate the mouth-breather, but he should put up decent numbers.

QB Drew Brees (NO) vs. ATL: This is a must-win for the Saints, and I doubt the Falcons will get as much pressure on Brees as the Bucs did last week.

QB Matt Ryan (ATL) @ NO: He is playing well, and the Saints can be beat through the air.

QB Aaron Rodgers (GB) vs. HOU: Cannot sit him against Houston. He will get his yards and TDs. Especially if Grant is beat up.

QB Chad Pennington (MIA) @ BUF: Remember, this game is being played in a dome in Toronto, not in the wind and cold of Buffalo. Pennington ate them up earlier in the year.

QB Brett Favre (NYJ) @ SF: Brett should play well in the warm(er) weather of the Bay.

QB Matt Cassel (NE) @ SEA: He could throw for 400 on them…

QB Tyler Thigpen (KC) @ DEN: Despite last week, Denver is awful on defense.

QB Jay Cutler (DEN) vs. KC: But so is Kansas City.

QB Kurt Warner (ARI) @ STL: Who wouldn’t love to see Warner torch his former team? I would. But I am biased. He is my fantasy QB.

QB Tony Romo (DAL) @ PIT: I know — the Steelers are tough on defense. But Romo should do well enough to warrant a start. It is a close call, though.

QB Joe Flacco (BAL) vs. WAS: Eh, why not?

RB Matt Forte (CHI) vs. JAX: Apparently he is not familiar with “the rookie wall” concept.

RB Maurice Jones-Drew (JAX) @ CHI: Yards might be low, but he should score. Or not. These things are hard to predict.

RB Adrian Peterson (MIN) @ DET: Well, hard to predict, unless it is AP against Detroit. I think he faced tougher competition in practice while at Oklahoma.

RB Kevin Smith (DET) vs. MIN: But only if the Williams boys’ suspension is upheld. Otherwise, avoid him like the plague. Or, perhaps I should say, avoid him like he plays for the Lions.

RB Brian Westbrook (PHI) @ NYG: I will never suggest sitting him again…

RB Brandon Jacobs (NYG) vs. PHI: Beast.

RB Chris Johnson (TEN) vs. CLE: They should run all over Cleveland.

RB Michael Turner (ATL) @ NO: Yardage might not be high, but always a threat to score.

RB Pierre Thomas (NO) vs. ATL: Deuce is out. And Bush is not 100% yet. So Thomas wins by default.

RB Steve Slaton (HOU) @ GB: Green Bay cannot stop the run. Period.

RB Thomas Jones (NYJ) @ SF: Man on fire.

RB Frank Gore (SF) vs. NYJ: Tough matchup, but he should do well enough.

RB Kevin Faulk (NE) @ SEA: Nothing other than a feeling.

RB Peyton Hillis (DEN) vs. KC: The white boy can play.

RB Larry Johnson (KC) @ DEN: I know. I am as surprised as you.

RB Tim Hightower (ARI) @ STL: I think he will get back on track this week.

RB Steven Jackson (STL) vs. ARI: He looked pretty good last week, and should be in line for more carries this week.

RB DeAngelo Williams (CAR) vs. TB: The kid is playing like they thought he would when they took him in the first round.

WR Matt Jones (JAX) @ CHI: He actually looks like a WR. Although he has an awful attitude (and haircut).

WR Bernard Berrian (MIN) @ DET: Everyone loves them some Lions.

WR Calvin Johnson (DET) vs. MIN: You can’t really sit him, but it’s tough to recommend any Lions.

WR DeSean Jackson (PHI) @ NYG: They are gonna have to throw if they wanna win.

WR Domenik Hixon (NYG) vs. PHI: Its the sexy-pick-of-the-week, so I don’t wanna be left out, right? He should do about as good as he did last week (70+ yards).

WR Braylon Edwards (CLE) @ TEN: Just kidding.

WR Roddy White (ATL) @ NO: You gotta start him. His name is Roddy. Roddy!

WR Lance Moore (NO) vs. ATL: I worry about a guy named Lance, but the kid can play.

WR Marques Colston (NO) vs. ATL: I think Colston will join in the fun again this week.

WR Andre Johnson (HOU) @ GB: Green Bay’s secondary is tough, but Johnson is possibly the best WR in the NFL.

WR Kevin Walter (HOU) @ GB: The Packers moved CB Charles Woodson to safety this week, meaning nickel CB Tramon Williams will be matched up against Walter most of the time. Which means you should start him.

WR Greg Jennings (GB) vs. HOU: Mr. Jennings is pretty good, too.

WR Donald Driver (GB) vs. HOU: Driver is old, but he just keeps playing well. I think he is worth a start this week.

WR Ted Ginn (MIA) @ BUF: He had 177 yards last time they played.

WR Lee Evans (BUF) vs. MIA: He has been up and down this year, but I think the former Badger will connect with QB JP Losman, who actually throws a pretty good deep ball.

WR Randy Moss (NE) @ SEA: He had the dropsies last week. I think he makes up for it this week. In a big way.

WR Brandon Marshall (DEN) vs. KC: Has not been the animal we expected after his first game, but he has been pretty good. And KC is not good on defense.

WR Eddie Royal (DEN) vs. KC: See Marshall, Brandon.

WR Dwayne Bowe (KC) @ DEN: The guy seems to put up 8 to 10 points, one way or another, every week. Well, except for last week. But Oakland has a very good pass defense. KC does not.

WR Mark Bradley (KC) @ DEN: See Bowe, Dwayne.

WR Larry Fitzgerald (ARI) @ STL: The Cardinals passing attack will get back on track. (Rhyme unintentional.)

WR Anquan Boldin (ARI) @ STL: See Fitzgerald, Larry.

WR Terrell Owens (DAL) @ PIT: Very tough matchup, but you cannot sit TO. He loves him some him. So he will get his.

WR Steve Smith (CAR) vs. TB: Almost always finds a way to make plays.

TE Dallas Clark (IND) vs. CIN: I just like his name.

TE Kevin Boss (NYG) vs. PHI: They might have to keep him in to help block, but I think he will get some catches.

TE Jeremy Shockey (NO) vs. ATL: His numbers have not been outrageous, but he has been putting up solid numbers lately.

TE Jason Witten (DAL) @ PIT: Tough matchup, but you gotta start him.

TE Chris Cooley (WAS) @ BAL: Another tough matchup, but again, you gotta start him.

TE Owen Daniels (HOU) @ GB: Start all your white TEs!

TE Tony Gonzalez (KC) @ DEN: Oh, yeah. And start Gonzo, too.

Week 12: Start

November 20, 2008 Leave a comment

START:

QB Peyton Manning (IND) @ SD: Peyton is playing great right, and SD gives up the most points to fantasy QBs.

QB Jeff Garcia (TB) @ DET: Detroit is awful. Even Garcia should put up big numbers.

QB Brady Quinn (CLE) vs. HOU: Broken finger and all, he still has a good matchup.

QB Jason Campbell (WAS) @ SEA: Campbell has not been playing all that well lately due to some tough matchups, but the Seahawks will be much easier.

QB Kyle Orton (CHI) @ STL: Yes, Orton has a bum ankle, and he played poorly lastl week against Green Bay, but the Rams are weak against the pass.

QB Gus Frerotte (MIN) @ JAX: He will probably have a few turnovers, but Jacksonville is friendly to opposing QBs, so he is still worth a start.

QB Kerry Collins (TEN) vs. NYJ: The Jets, much like the past few Titans opponents, will likely focus on the run. Although the Jets are solid upfront, they are vulnerable against the pass.

QB Aaron Rodgers (GB) @ NO: Rodgers is healthy again, and should do well against a weak New Orleans pass defense. And this game is likely to be high-scoring.

QB Eli Manning (NYG) @ ARI: The Cardinals give up the most passing TDs in the NFL, and Eli should do pretty well.

Other QBs to start:
QB Drew Brees (NO) vs. GB
QB Jay Cutler (DEN) vs. OAK
QB Kurt Warner (ARI) vs. NYG
QB Tyler Thigpen (KC) vs. BUF
QB Matt Cassel (NE) @ MIA
QB David Garrard (JAX) vs. MIN
QB Shaun Hill (SF) @ DAL
QB Ben Roethlisberger (PIT) vs. CIN
QB Tony Romo (DAL) vs. SF

RB Marshawn Lynch (BUF) @ KC: Kansas City is extremely soft against the run. And QB Trent Edwards is not playing well lately, so Buffalo will likely lean on Lynch.

RB Matt Forte (CHI) @ STL: Forte has a great matchup.

RB Justin Fargas (OAK) @ DEN: I am hesitant even to suggest starting an Oakland player, but Denver is so soft against the run that someone has to do well, right?

RB Warrick Dunn (TB) @ DET: Dunn steps in for the injured RB Earnest Graham, and gets an easy matchup.

RB Peyton Hillis (DEN) vs. OAK: It is unclear how much of a role RB Tatum Bell will play in Denver, but I think Hillis will at least remain the goal line back. So he is worth a start against a very soft Raiders run defense.

RB LaDainian Tomlinson (SD) vs IND: Unfortunately, LT is no longer a must-start. But he has a good matchup this week against Indy, who gave up 150+ yards to RB Steve Slaton last week.

RB Jamal Lewis (CLE) vs. HOU: Lewis is playing pretty well this year, and has a good matchup this week.

RB Marion Barber (DAL) vs. SF: You gotta start Barber every week.

RB Willie Parker (PIT) vs. CIN: Parker is healthy again and has a pretty good matchup against the Bengals.

RB Chris Johnson (TEN) vs. NYJ: I know he has a tough matchup, and he has not been doing all that well lately, but I still like him this week.

Other RBs to start:
RB Steve Slaton (HOU) @ CLE
RB Clinton Portis (WAS) @ SEA
RB Adrian Peterson (MIN) @ JAX
RB Frank Gore (SF) @ DAL
RB Joseph Addai (IND) @ SD
RB Ryan Grant (GB) @ NO

WR Sanata Moss (WAS) @ SEA: Seattle is just plain bad.

WR Terrell Owens (DAL), WR Roy Williams (DAL) vs. SF: Romo is (mostly) healthy, and SF presents a very favorable matchup for the Dallas WRs.

WR Donnie Avery (STL) vs. CHI: Chicago is vulnerable against the pass but stout against the run, so the Rams will likely be throwing the ball often. You might even consider starting WR Torry Holt.

WR Antonio Bryant (TB) @ DET: Everyone scores against Detroit.

WR Plaxico Burress (NYG) @ ARI: Arizona gives up a lot of passing TDs, so look for Eli and Plax to hook up.

WR Randy Moss (NE), WR Wes Welker (NE) @ MIA: Miami has a pretty weak secondary, so Moss and Welker should do pretty well.

WR Andre Johnson (HOU) @ CLE: Cleveland is not awful against the pass, but they are not good enough to stop AJ. Even though he is not as hot as he was early in the year, he is still a must-start.

WR Greg Jennings (GB), WR Donald Driver (GB) @ NO: Look for the Packers to run the ball quite a bit against the Saints, but I think they will also move the ball through the air quite a bit. I have a feeling there will be a lot of offense in the Superdome on MNF.

WR Greg Camarillo (MIA), WR Ted Ginn (MIA) vs. NE: Camarillo has to earn that new paycheck. And Ginn has been playing well.

WR Hines Ward (PIT), WR Santonio Holmes (PIT) vs. CIN: Cincinatti is decent against the pass, but Roethlisberger should be able to spread the ball around and get both Ward and Holmes some catches.

Other WRs to start:
WR Reggie Wayne (IND) @ SD
WR Marvin Harrison (IND) @ SD
WR Anquan Boldin (ARI) vs. NYG
WR Larry Fitzgerald (ARI) vs. NYG
WR Dwayne Bowe (KC) vs. BUF
WR Bernard Berrian (MIN) @ JAX
WR Brandon Marshall (DEN) vs. OAK
WR Eddie Royal (DEN) vs. OAK
WR Steve Smith (CAR) @ ATL
WR Roddy White (ATL) vs. CAR
WR Lance Moore (NO) vs. GB
WR Justin Gage (TEN) vs. NYJ
WR Braylon Edwards (CLE) vs. HOU
