Week 9: Random Thoughts

1. I guess the rumors about RB Edgerrin James were right. RB Tim Hightower had 22 carries for 109 yards and a TD. James did not touch the ball all game. Grab him now if he is available.

2. RB Ryan Grant actually looked pretty good against a very stout Titans defense. He might be turning the corner.

3. QB Kurt Warner continues to post great numbers.

4. As expected, RB Michael Turner had a good game against a bad defense. Now is the time to trade him.

5. If KC RB Jamaal Charles is available in your league, grab him. RB Kolby Smith is out and who knows what is going on with RB Larry Johnson. Charles is a poor man’s Chris Johnson.

6. Speaking of RB Chris Johnson, that kid is for real. Many thought it was a stretch when the Titans took him in Round 1 last April. But now they look like geniuses.

7. Lions RB Kevin Smith is officially relevant for fantasy purposes again. He did not have a great game (14 carries, 37 yards, 1 TD), but clearly he is a better option than RB Rudi Johnson going forward.

8. Not a great debut for my newest fantasy-man-crush, RB Ryan Torain (3 carries, 1 yard). I warned you that his first start might be a rough one. But things get easier against Cleveland next week, so do not give up on him yet.

9. Bears WR Rashied Davis continues to put up solid numbers. But will that continue with QB Rex Grossman running the offense?

10. For those of you who own RB Marion Barber, WR Terrell Ownens, WR Roy Williams, and TE Jason Witten: Don’t worry. QB Tony Romo will be back after the bye week… But week 11 cannot come soon enough.
