Injury Update: Tony Romo to play?

QB Tony Romo (DAL): ESPN has reported that Tony Romo has told his coaches that he will try to play this weekend against St. Louis with a broken pinkie finger on his throwing hand.

Advice: If he can play, he would make a good start against a poor Rams defense. And assuming he can play effectively, it would improve the value of Barber, TO, Roy Williams, and Witten (and would obviously bump Brad Johnson back to the bench).

But I would not get too excited yet. Romo says he will play, but it remains to be seen whether (1) he can actually play effectively and/or (2) the Cowboys organization will allow him to play.
